Mole Valley Farmers trusted Feral with one of its most important annual campaigns and revenue streams: Christmas. We created a library of seasonal stills spanning hampers, food & drink, gifts, pet products and lifestyle imagery, bringing warmth, consistency and a little creativity to an unmistakably festive production.

About
For Mole Valley Farmers, Christmas is far more than a seasonal flourish, supporting one of the busiest trading periods across stores, print and digital channels. Being trusted with it meant creating a broad, coherent image library capable of carrying the whole campaign, while giving individual product ranges enough space and character to stand confidently on their own, wherever they appeared.
Our starting point was detailed pre-production. Working closely with Mole Valley Farmers’ marketing, art direction, visual merchandising, food and drink, and digital teams, we worked though the shot list, styling approach and daily schedule. The photography needed to move easily between catalogue spreads, front covers, banners, websites, emails, social posts and in-store displays, without feeling overly uniform or losing the warmth people associate with Christmas.
The visual approach combined clean, focused product photography with richer lifestyle scenes. Warm seasonal colours, real foliage, timber, slate, hessian and softly glowing lights created a welcoming setting, while controlled compositions ensured products remained clear and useful. Every setup was planned around its eventual application, allowing room for headlines, page folds and alternative crops before cameras started rolling, rather than solving all those requirements afterwards in post-production.
The production moved between cut-outs and styled lifestyle scenes. Six hamper ranges were photographed packed, open and dressed, alongside food and drink spreads, gifting products, wellingtons, blankets and dog beds. At one point, we were working with food, dogs and Christmas trees all on the same day, a combination that keeps everyone alert and makes for a very distinctive shoot in the Feral calendar.
Sets were designed to achieve several outcomes at once. Hero arrangements provided space for campaign messaging, products were captured for online retail, and alternative framings gave the client flexibility. Front-cover concepts and food spreads sat alongside e-commerce imagery, creating breadth without losing consistency.
Tethered capture allowed the Mole Valley Farmers team to review photographs as they were produced, make decisions on set and refine details before each setup was struck. That collaboration was valuable across a schedule involving products, props, animals and seasonal scenes. Selected images were reviewed and edited progressively, helping the client move quickly into campaign production throughout the Christmas period.
The result was a professionally finished bank of imagery created for one of Mole Valley Farmers’ most important annual campaigns. Christmas arrived early for the production team, but every photograph was planned for the moment customers would see it.

''Working with the Feral team was a smooth, stress-free and collaborative approach, capturing a huge amount of content within just a few days. A huge thank you to the team for working to a demanding schedule, to produce some really beautiful imagery we can use across all our print and digital channels.''
